Amelia & Brett Engagement Party: Berry Chocolate Mud Cake, Austinmer (12 June 2010)

Diamonds are forever

Amelia and Brett were blessed with a great sunny winters day for their backyard engagement party. OMG … how good does their cake look — I was very much looking forward to dessert time when I spotted this pièce de résistance (pictured above). I love a good Aussie backyard get together with lovely food, good company and plenty of drinks on offer. Their attention to detail with decorating was lovely with diamonds, sea shells, hanging frangipanis and floating lotus flowers in the pool. They're a lovely couple and I wish them lots of happiness with their future commitment together.

hi phuoc, i'm so glad i got to try some :-)

hi laura, i stole it first though :-) i've never seen anything quite like it before.

hi sara, you'll need to get in line to steel this cake idea, i'm first, then laura then you hehe

hi yaya, you can never have enough chocolate on a cake, but actually i think this one got pretty close to the limit :-)

hi angie, was such a nice back yard to have an engagement party. was quite resort and tropical like.

hi maria, there was certainly enough food and cake to go around — twice! :-)

hi lorraine, i wish i had a wheelbarrow to store the beers for my next party. and a great way to wheel them around too hehe :-)

hi amy, i always try and get a little bit of everything at these buffet style food tables although i didn't quite get to fit the lasagne.
