O is for Organic

“To create wholesome delicious food using fresh local produce where possible. To support our organic farmers. Respect the earth and stay true to the body's needs. Our promise is to create flavoursome food that is innovative and memorable.”

It’s very unusual to see a certified organic eatery spring up in the Hunter Connection amongst the cheap and fatty Asian bain-maries where MSG usually runs riot but it’s a welcomed and refreshing sight. I choose a combination of three out of the nine salads on offer for my Mixed organic salad ($9.50 medium size). The vegetables are fresh and tasty as hoped and perhaps even more preferable to the IKU salads I usually tend to go for when I’m in need of some healthy and wholesome food. The pricing for the salads is perhaps on the more expensive side compared to others but it’s quality rather than quantity I guess. I must return to try some of their other salads and sandwiches which look just as appetising and I believe they even have some Gluten Free organic sweets for that not-so-naughty sugar hit to go with some of their Tobys Estate Organic Fairtrade coffee.

Ah, good to know that there are more organic lunch spots opening up in the city. I had a small eat in salad at 'About Life' in Bondi (formerly 'Macro') and it was $11! Now that's expensive. It was bad too which made it worse. The flaked salmon one was mixed with raw bok choy and no dressing.

I was so happy to find this place a few months ago among all the cheap unhealthy takeaway around. I don't mind paying a little extra at all.

It's certainly a nice change from the Asian places. I get the quinoa salad from here all the time, and it's lovely, if pricey.

Great post!

I have never been a big fan of organic food. However, more and more stores are opening and people must love it and how it really tastes. I must find one and try it myself.

I love this place but just had a chicken leg from there and it was full on pink on the inside! I have tried to email the guys but couldn't find email address, so apologies for public post - but guys please: cook the chicken well so the meat is WHITE! Otherwise people will get sick. Thanks, everything else (inc coffee) is absolutely delicious
