Coffee and cake on Macquarie
I love the abundance of fresh quality flowers here both inside and outside the small cafe. Quaint courtyard seating with umbrellas for shade make for a pleasant experience on a nice sunny day. They do a good job with Campos Coffee. Cappuccino ($3.50) had a strong flavour and helps to cut through the yummy daily special of Chocolate hazelnut mousse cake ($4). Smooth and light texture makes it easy to enjoy on your own. It would have been better served with a real plate and fork rather than the cardboard tray and wooden takeaway fork. Those wooden forks on the teeth are like fingernails on a chalkboard for me. And the rich decadent yet sticky chocolate coating loved to stick like tar to the cardboard surface. Lovely friendly service amongst historic surrounds.
