Donut Sugar Hit Guaranteed

You definitely shouldn't have these everyday as the sugar hit is real with these donuts. The O.G. ($6.70) was for me, Slim Shady ($6.70) for the kids, and the vegan Liam Hemsworthy ($6.70) for the Mrs. They only serve donuts here but probably best washed down with a coffee. I like the thin icing on my O.G. with a soft textured and slightly bready donut base. The kids loved picking off the M&Ms and then licking off the icing before eating their Slim Shady donut. The first time I tried the Liam Hemsworthy I didn't realise it was vegan and it was one of my preferred favourites at the time. It does look a lot richer than it looks. Service was friendly and these shops are popping up all over Sydney.

Hole in the wall coffee spot

Best coffee deal of the week. Picked up a loyalty card and spotted the first coffee is FREE! How cool! Plus no extra for decaf, mocha, lactose free, soy, coconut, almond and syrup. Cappuccino (Usually $3.50 but first coffee was free) had a medium roast flavour and was the first person to have one dining in so cups straight out of the box. Jam filled donut ($5) from My Donut Box was generously filled made for a wicked sugar hit. Cronuts and bagels also available. Seating very basic so more suited for takeaways at the moment.

Coffee and donut game strong

“Our donuts are made fresh on-site throughout the day, using high-quality, natural ingredients. Our coffee is sourced from the best specialty roasters and paired with delicious organic milk.”

It's near impossible to walk into this place and not be succumbed to buying a donut as you see them stacked on the shelves tempting you with their pretty colours and shapes. So while you're here you might as well get yourself a coffee to wash down your calories. My Cappuccino ($4) using Market Lane Coffee Seasonal Espresso is very good. I chose the Cinnamon Cardamom Donut ($4) to start with their basic donut and it looked the least guilty. Very large in size so could be shared, it's texture soft and flavour enjoyable. Perhaps not as soft and oily as those freshly deep fried classic cinnamon ones you get but still a very nice donut. Sugar and caffeine hit sorted. These guys from Melbourne have brought their evil temptress A game to Sydney and doing it so well. Staff were lovely and there's some seating both inside and out. Watch a bit of the donut theatre inside and see how they create these glorious calorie wonders.

Coffee and donut temptation

Instagram is great for foodie inspiration so when I spotted coffee and donuts by Jenny on @see.taste.do I had to try. Cappuccino ($4) uses Schibello Caffe coffee which was good with a full-bodied flavour. Cool coffee art as well. Apparently the barista has over 20 years experience and when he has the time he tries to serve up something creative for the customers. Nutella filled doughnut ($4.50) is housemade and pretty impressive. Texture was good and not too firm inside. Plenty of Nutella filling and the added decadence of chocolate on top. I'm keen to try the strawberry jam filled one now. Staff were friendly although one seemed like she needed a bit of a coffee hit herself as she walked slowing around the cafe looking like she still needed to wake up. Would have been nice to be served some table water as well. I've had the pastas here for lunch before and they're well priced for the quality and flavour.
