Coffee fix sorted on Queen St

In need of a coffee I thought I'd try this place which seemed to be pretty popular with the locals. Friendly service and keen barista pumping out the coffees as fast as possible. I was pleasantly surprised to find this pasta place did a decent coffee. Not quite sure what coffee they're using but I'm suspecting it might be Aroma Coffee Roastery based on one of their instagram posts.

Ladurée of the East

Cute store that holds all the signature macarons including their popular Salted Caramel Macaron ($3.90) and Rose Petal Macaron ($3.90) which had a nice texture and flavour. They do seem to take pride in their presentation with minimal cracked shells and the filling that spreads mostly flush with the edges. I wish there was seating inside but it's more a takeaway store while the CBD location in Westfield Sydney has a full menu and sit down area. Unfortunately sad to see this Woollahra store was closed down on Monday 29 Jan 2018 leaving the Westfield Sydney store the only place in Sydney for Ladurée macarons.

Cafe Parterre, Woollahra (12 Sept 2017)

The French Grounds of Parterre

This would have to be my new favourite secret garden cafe. So much photo inspiration in this courtyard wherever you look. Cappuccino ($3.50) using Allpress Espresso coffee is nice. Babyccino ($1) could be improved as its served in a glass with all milk and the potential for a messy finish is high if spilt when sitting at the table with the holes. The Palmier ($5) is very yummy although small and a little pricey I guess for the size. Mixed berry scone ($7) is good too and they get them from the highly popular Organic Bread Bar. Pain au Chocolat ($6) is certainly one of the more expensive ones I've had around town but it's also one of the better ones with lovely buttery flaky pastry and a decent amount of chocolate inside. Get it warmed up for the win.
