Char Kway Teow Cravings
Inspired by an instagram post by Grab Your Fork brings me to try the Char Tway Teow ($14) described as spicy wok-tossed rice noodles with eggs, prawns, cockles, Chinese sausage and fresh bean sprouts. One of the few places in Sydney that actually include cockles and these ones were pretty plump and added a salty burst of flavour. There was a nice noticeable wok her achieved. Thinner pad thai style noodles were used but I generally prefer the broader flat rice noodles. Three decent sized deveined prawns in the mix and come tasty sausage. There's a fair amount of seating and a bit of theatre to be seen from the open kitchen. I was originally sat next to the cutlery counter but be sure to move if this happens — the noise of the banging cutlery is very unsettling and stressful when right next to you. I've tried their Hainanese Chicken Rice on a previous visit and thought it was pretty good too. I think the Wan Tan Mee is calling my name for the next visit.
