Spanish eats in Chifley
Chifley (formerly Chifley Plaza) is finally back open after months of renovations and Encasa Rapido is quick off the mark as one of the first new eateries to open in the space. Chorizo Bocadillo - Grilled Spanish sausage, roast capsicum, tomato, Spanish onion & aioli ($12.50) comes in a nice crusty baguette and plenty of tasty chorizo with a mild spice. Nice combo of flavours and easy to eat without being too messy. Spotted some tempting Spanish muffins, alfajores, portuguese tarts and almond croissants on display for a sugar hit. Loving the new decor and seating options on Level One. Sort of reminds me of a hotel lobby bar for some reason in parts. Plenty of other eateries still to open and hopefully soon.

Avenue amongst the palm trees
This cafe seems like it's been here for ages. Quite a unique location with a nice outlook of palm trees in front of Chifley Tower. Cappuccino ($4) was pretty good and uses a custom coffee blend that they've apparently been using for 12 years. Bacon and Egg Roll ($8.50) comes in a lovely soft roll with plenty of bacon and two eggs. The eggs are cooked through so you won't get any gooey spills over your nice shirt although in terms of flavour could probably benefit from being a bit more gooey. Service was good and friendly and prompt in providing table water after being seated.

Coffee in grand spaces
One of the most awesome building foyer settings for a coffee shop I think. So sculptural and grand. Cappuccino ($3.80 dine in or $3.30 takeaway) using Mecca Coffee is made well and served by friendly staff. These guys are popular with the local office crowd and on a nice day it's quite lovely to sit at the tables and admire the building architecture. Simple eats and tempting pastries available.
