Simple burger eat with Hey You

Hey You Lunch Special comes to the rescue again for a cheap eat. Big Mooie Beef Burger - House 150g Beef patty, fresh iceberg lettuce, tomato, homemade beetroot relish, turmeric onion, choice of sauce (Normally $10 but Hey You Lunch Special made it only $5). Good price for a quick lunch bite. Quite a tasty seasoned pattie cooked medium retaining a little bit of pink. Don't forget to request a sauce via the notes in the app which I forgot too. Some BBQ or Tomato Sauce would have helped to add some extra moistness. Some melty cheese would have made it better but this doesn't come up as an option in the app for takeaway but it is available on the menu for $1 extra which I'd recommend if dining in. Some pickle action would be good in the burger too. I noticed free range egg and pineapple can also be added for $2 each on the dine in menu. Seems to be a popular little spot and the menu prices are reasonable for the area I think. There's no seating for takeaway but if you venture towards Barangaroo House there's some nice seating with a pleasant water and grass view to be had.

Express lunch menu

This place has certainly stood the test of time since my last review visit 9 year ago. The menu isn't cheap for this touristy located bar but the express lunch specials 11.30am – 5pm seems to be a better deal which includes a house beer or wine. Grilled Barramundi, chips, side of lemon and aioli with rocket ($18 express lunch special) had nicely cooked fish with a generous portion of 2 pieces and crispy chips. The undressed rocket and lonely cherry tomato could perhaps be more interesting with a bit of dressing and some extra tomatoes to make up a decent side salad. Friends that had the Asian burger - slow cooked pork belly, hoisin sauce, sliced cucumber, lettuce and Kimchi on betroot [beetroot] bun ($17) seemed pretty happy with it although we were all wondering about the 'beetroot bun' as it looked like a normal bun to us with no hint of purple in its colour. Service was friendly and there's waterviews to be had of Darling Harbour. Lots of seating suitable for large group bookings.

Sydney bar with water views

In need of a night cap drinkie I checked out this bar with @plus1guest and @sydneyeventblogger. I was very happy with my Casoni's Negroni - Bombay Sapphire Gin, Campari, Sweet Vermouth, Blood Orange Juice, Rosemary ($16). The Gin Mare Gin & Tonic ($10.50) is a great gin to enjoy as a GT. Sydney Event Blogger was happy with her Havana's Mojito - Havana Anejo Rum, Blood Orange, Lime, Mint ($17). This bar is huge and when we visited we pretty much had the whole place to ourselves. Thankfully the balcony lounge seating and the cool background music provided a cosy area to chillax and enjoy the water and city view. Arriving just before 10 pm I was hoping to try their oysters but the only thing on offer was their sourdough flat breads at the time even though they're open til 12 am. Plenty of seating options throughout. Bartender was friendly. During the warmer months will be a great spot for after work drinks.
