Tasty Lamb Souvlaki

Reasonably priced pub food is usually the order if I'm out and about visiting the latest gallery openings on Thursday nights. Paddington Arms Hotel has been a reliable haven for such a thing. I'm usually a fan of the basic rump steak for my protein but after trying the Lamb Souvlaki for the first time makes me think I might order it instead next time. It was tender and tasty and came with 5 generous stick portions — although I'm thinking I'd probably crave the hot chips which comes with the steak.

After checking out the latest free exhibition at the Australian Centre for Photography my hunger brings me to this affordable, friendly and cosy pub for dinner. The prawn linguine pasta comes with five large prawns and is tasty enough to satisfy the taste buds but the garlic and chilli could be pushed up a notch for me to counter act the winter chills. The chicken schnitzel is a decent size and thickness and the chips always hit the spot with the dishes here.

After checking out the Roslyn Oxley 9 Gallery and Blender Gallery openings on a thursday night I usually end up having the rump steak at this cosy watering hole. Ordering medium-rare is my preference and the chips tonight were nice and crunchy — Crispys! It's fairly standard pub grub but does the job of filling you up without dipping too much into your stimulus package. The generous plate of salt and pepper squid was tender and had more of a spice coating rather than the chinese crispy batter style.
