Keeping it real for locals
“Real Food is the first pop up shop celebrating sustainable, ethical and local food hand-crafted by a range of amazing Sydney based artisans, chefs and urban farmers.”
On the last day of trading (10–24 Dec) I visited this pop up shop. The homely and rustic decor was a nice match for the products on display. Hopefully there'll be more projects and shops like this in 2013 focusing on sustainable, ethical and local food in different areas around Sydney. It's a great idea to have so many different artisans products in one place which make for some special foodie gifts. All that was missing was a large range of potted herbs to take back to the kitchen and an abacus at the cash only service counter.
SNAPSHOT REVIEW:
PROS: Focusing on sustainable, ethical and local
CONS: More expensive than your average supermarket products, Only a temporary shop
MUST TRY: Watching out for the next pop up shop
VERDICT: A great place to shop for some special foodie gifts
