Coffee fix on Elizabeth St
Checked out Fix St James on a coffee run before work where I've had fantastic steak dishes and wine before. The Greenstone Chateaubriand with Wild Mushrooms and their much loved skirt steak which no longer seems to be on the menu have since been Simon Favourites. Cappuccino ($4.20) using Sonoma coffee had a light-medium roast flavour and was light on the froth. I assume it would be cheaper for take away, hopefully. I found the barista in charge had quite a forward manner when replying "Give us $4.20" after requesting can I please have a cappuccino to have here. Not the most welcoming of conversations. I sort of felt like I was interrupting his morning by ordering a coffee. Plenty of seating outside to enjoy the passing grid lock traffic of Sydney buses during morning peak hour. Still a place I'd highly recommend for steak and wine, maybe not so much for coffee.
