Bush comes to Redfern
Finding a park can be a nightmare and you might mistake this place for an Aussie gift shop with all the Australian marsupial soft toys around (souvenir lightbulb idea) but they sure know how to make a decent cheeseburger. When ChocolateSuze says it's one of the best burgers in Sydney this inspires me to get the Cheeseburger ($12). Pillow soft bun by Breadtop, plenty of tasty sauce and a flavoursome pattie plus melty cheese for the win. Side of chips ($5 on bill, $6 on menu) are always a winner when crinkle cut and well seasoned. Burger game is certainly strong here.
Did someone say Fairy Bread N Butter Pudding ($10). I had to try. It sort of works but would love to see more ice cream to last or include some warm custard to provide a bit more moisture. Tree log seating looks interesting but I'm suspecting becomes less comfortable for a longer stay. Menu is limited which is probably a good thing while they find their feet in improving kitchen turnaround time. Service friendly and there's more seating out the back in the courtyard. Decor seems to be a work in progress and with time I'm sure they'll settle into their new digs and become a local burger gem.

Saving the ugly fruit in Redfern
The new juice kids on the block are doing a great job in saving the ugly fruit from landfill. Love the idea and since they're from Papa Gede's Bar I'm hoping they'll also create Das Cocktail down the track. My healthy start to the day was a Green Street Juice - pear, mint, lemon, ginger, spinach, kale, parsley, cucumber ($7, $1 refund for return of bottle). I asked if I drank it on the spot can I just pay $6 which they agreed to. I enjoyed the flavour and the other ready to drink cold pressed juice options in the fridge looked good. I'm hoping they'll expand to sell their juices in cafes around town, especially in the city for the lunch time crowd.

Coffee & Cookie Goals
Very nice Cappuccino ($3.50) using Five Senses Coffee served in a small cup that gives a good hit of flavour. Cookie heaven to be found here. Nutella Cookie ($4) and Peanut Butter Cookie ($4) so good they're dangerous. Just the right crunchy texture on the outside with a soft gooey like texture to be found in the epicentre of chocolate or peanut butter goodness. Pretty cool decor and some seating to be found inside at either the high tables or larger common table. Not so keen on the metal seating though which looks cool but makes a hell of a noise when moving along the hard floor. Menu looks reasonably priced so definitely keen to revisit. Service friendly and parking can be a little bit of challenge in the area.
