Lynwood Jams Available

Heading back to Sydney from Canberra I had the opportunity to visit this lovely winery near Lake George which is pretty dried up these days. I was also keen to visit the Lynwood Cafe at Collector but previously found out it had only recently closed it's doors on Sunday 30 August 2009. While visiting the winery we were greeted by the very helpful and friendly event manager Janine who I believe used to work at Lynwood Cafe. She helped us sample all the wines on offer while attending to lunch diners. The Shiraz ended up being my favourite and the lunch dishes looked great which I'd be keen to try next time. I was pleased to see the winery was also selling some jams and chutneys by Lynwood so I purchased the Seville Orange Marmalade which was later a great treat on toast full of flavour. Nice decor and seating with a view and a wood fire made the place very cozy and worth stopping by.

Seville Orange Marmalade $11.50

Jams, olives, oils and balsamic

Wine tasting counter

Cellar door wines and prices

Dining and wood fire

Winery, function venue and restaurant

View over vineyards

New signage

Old signage (I thought it was a rare steak rather than a bunch of grapes)

We used to have a Lynwood store up the road in Leichhardt. It was great and I was very sad to see it close.
