Slip Inn to Winter
The cold winter weather is a great time for pork and mulled wine and the Slip Inn put on another generous party of free food and drinks complete with penguins and even an outdoor spa with Red Bull promo girls. The hungry crowd were treated to about 450 proposed servings of roast pork with salad and about 400 rolls of Kransky sausage. The chef was intending to cook the pork on a spit but they couldn't fit the proposed 4 spit roaster on the truck so they had to cook it all in the kitchen over many hours. The pork was nice and moist but no sign of crackling for the guests — although such prized crackling would be a nice reward for the hard working staff and kitchen. As usual you need to look out for the food as it's brought out from the kitchen or you could easily miss out as it's quickly snapped up — it's all about location location location. No one can argue with a free drinks and I'm not sure what was in the Belvedere Vodka cocktail but it's was great — possibly had nutmeg on the rim and mixed with peach juice.
