I'm feeling like I'm having a fat day on Anzac Day so a long coastal walk is on the agenda from Coogee Beach to Tamarama Beach. I get as far as Bronte Beach and recollect my childhood memories of the fish and chip shop here. The fresh beach air always seems to make me crave fish and chips. The shop is looking rather run down, very basic and not as popular today as the other adjoining renovated cafés and restaurants with their outdoor seating. I walk past the other cafés but my stomach draws me back to simply have fish and chips. I wasn't expecting much so I was pleasantly surprised it was a decent tasting barramundi fillet with crispy batter and not too oily in touch with basic chips with enough crunch to satisfy. Thankfully it's a long walk back home on a beautiful sunny day to work off the fat again.
Hot chips and oiliness check on paper — not too bad.

Be warned fellow foodies, this place sells barramundi but you are buying hake or another cheap fish!
Hard to spot to the untrained eye.
Be warned..research your fillets and see for yourself.
hi anonymouse, thanks for the warning. how can you tell the difference by the way? :-)
