The cacao trail of confectionery
The recent hype of the erotic novel Fifty Shades of Grey I keep hearing around town in conversations has inspired me to do a Fifty Shades of Chocolate focusing on a selection of 50 handmade chocolates I spotted in the David Jones Food Hall Confectionery. Chocolate temptations come in many forms and at prices ranging from a $1.95 for an Oscar the Owl to a premium $220 per kg for Godiva hearts.
SNAPSHOT REVIEW:
PROS: Plenty of choice, Great gift idea — for me anyway
CONS: Overwhelming selection, Can be very expensive
MUST TRY: Finding a good cherry liqueur chocolate

Wow. Give me chocolate over a trashy book any day!
So many chocolates. Are those Easter eggs towards the top of the page?
How long did you spend taking photos of them all?:)
Oh yum, what a great idea, I know where to head to on my lunch break!!
What an awesome post! Although I am tempted to do a Melbourne equivalent and credit you as inspiration, I must ask how you got away with snapping so many photos in DJs??!
hi bel, how about combine both together ;-)
hi miss kimbers, some of the definitely looked like easter shaped eggs. i pretty much did a fly by shoot in around 10 mins just through the glass. would have preferred without the glass in the way though and weird lighting from the display
hi rachel, plenty to choose from. there were certainly some that i'd love to try.
hi momo and coco, thanks. you should totally do a melbourne on and be sure to add the link as a comment here. i just walked in and went up to the counter display and started photographing like some weird crazy tourist hehe. it was busy so i wasn't in the way of anyone.
Great idea you had here - looks delicious too!
hi Sir and Mlady Dine Out, and more ideas coming soon.
My choc lovelies!!!!!! I was a poor student in Sydney in the 1990s and it was a special treat to get a few of these babies once in a while.
The cointreau & lime ones were my absolute favourites. They look the same 20 years on!
Such great memories...
