Decent pub food
There are plenty of very fancy and expensive restaurants to choose from along Crown Street these days but if you're looking for something more reasonably priced to fill you up which is still decent quality then Trinity Bar might be a good option to check out. The Salt and Chilli soft shell crab with Asian coleslaw, lime and palm sugar dressing ($20) really made a good impression on me this time and was very tasty with a nice crisp factor in the Asian coleslaw. I think it could have perhaps benefitted with a some more fresh mint in the Asian coleslaw to give it an extra dimension on the taste buds but it was a great tasting dish nevertheless.
My order of Grilled barramundi with chips and salad ($20) was decently sized and I'm glad to see it came with a decent amount of delicious salad dressing too — I hate it when they don't give you enough salad dressing. There were no complaints about the Chicken schnitzel burger with cheese, tomato and saffron wine with grilled Trukish bread ($15) and for a very filling meal you might want to try the Slow Braised Lamb Shanks with roast vegetable and red wine jus on mash and steamed spinach ($24) with meat falling off the bone as it should. As I came back to the table after ordering I noticed someone getting stuck into their decent sized plate of BBQ ribs would looked excellent. I'll have to remember to try this next time and hope it delivers on taste. If you can't find seating downstairs then check upstairs (pictured) which also has another bar to get your drinks.

Just found your site - love it. Also noticed that I just became your 100th follower which was kind of nice too.
Looks like pretty decent pub grub, especially the soft shell crab!
Good to know a decent place for pub food at the area!
hi lanie, thanks so much for being my 100th follower! that's super! so glad to hear you enjoy my blog. i wish i had a garden like yours to grow my own vegetables and fruit but i only have a small balcony facing north although the potted rosemary seems to be able to survive the heat. any tips on how to grow a successful herb garden on a balcony facing the sun?
hi john, there's was also enough chilli spice on the crab to give it a nice taste bud kick too :-)
hi ellie, the Dolphin Hotel also has some decent priced pub grub too. haven't been to the White Horse Hotel for a while but I think they do reasonably priced meals too now.
Wow I would never have guessed! Was the only pub I could get into and stay at before legal age. Cool, love cheap n cheerful food.
hi sarah, definitely check out the soft shell crab if you're a fan.
