Malay-Chinese Takeaway, Sydney (13 May 2009)

Shop 1, 50-58 Hunter St, Sydney NSW 2000

Very Popular Laksa Spot

I thought arriving at 11.50 am today would be a safe beat for grabbing a table for lunch but the place was already buzzing with laksa lovers so luckily some friends came about 5 minutes earlier and managed to get one of the last tables. The chicken laksa here is my gauge for any other Sydney laksa and Malay-Chinese consistently satisfies my laksa appetite. The super spongy tofu they use is perfect for soaking up lots of full-bodied laksa flavour.

Other visits to Malay-Chinese:
5 Nov 2009 - Assam Laksa
26 Oct 2009 - Seafood Laksa, Combination Clear Soup
6 August 2009 - Hainan Chicken Rice, Mee Siam
13 May 2009 - Chicken Laksa
29 April 2009 - Char Kway Teow
24 March 2009 - Har Mee, Seafood Laksa, Assam Laksa, Chicken Laksa

Chicken laksa $8.20 + $1 vegetables = $9.20

That laksa looks just the way I like my laksa, not too milky! I always hear good things about this place, must give it a try.

Man, my mouth is just watering looking at that. This would be great way to warm up the ol' bones on a chilly day :)
