Searching for Sydney's Best Coffee!
This grunge style café was listed as one of the top 5 Best Cafés in Time Out Sydney Food Awards 2009 along with an enticing description of 'Wall cranks out 800 coffees a day. That means heaven for hardcore espresso and milk coffee lovers alike' which inspired me to check it out on a lazy Sunday. I like it's laid back 'whatever' decor styling which suits the Surry Hills area. It's very quiet today so no hordes of coffee drinkers in sight. Both the flat white and cappucino are OK but tasted slightly on the watery weak side of a good cup and I much prefer the coffee I've had at The First Drop. I'm thinking the usual barista might not be working today and will have to revisit during it's peak weekday trading hours to further assess. The generous and reasonably priced toasted sandwiches were pretty good.
Flat White Coffee $3.30

Toasted Pide Bulgarian sheeps feta with tomato, basil and ham $9

There are a couple nearby that make a good coffee - my workday favourites include Single Origin & Il espresso.
Hi Forager, thanks for the tips. I've heard of Single Origin and hoping to visit one day. Is Il Espresso 150 Liverpool St East Sydney?
