Cooler weather = soup time
With the cooler season starting to make it's way to Sydney I start to think about comforting soups for lunch. I tend to go through phases of searching for the best laksa, ramen or pho and lately I seem to be craving the wonton noodle soup this season to see which place in town has the best within walking distance of my work. Deli Choice Malaysian & Chinese Bistro possibly has the worst name I've come across for an Asian eatery. It's not a Deli nor a Bistro but this very popular place makes a decent wonton noodle soup I can rely on. The broth has some depth in flavour and their wontons are plump, soft and tasty. For extra taste I like adding a bit of their chilli oil. I also can recommend their crispy skin chicken which I've tried twice but have yet to take a photo.

Look good,but that's fairly expensive for wonton soup. Was it a big serve?

hi bel, i got the combination wonton but normal wonton is around $8-9 i think. some things a little more pricey than what you can get in chinatown but i think it's one of the better places I've found near the martin place side of the city.
For a minute there I thought the photo of the kitchen was the actual restuarant! =D That is a very sexy kitchen ;)
Oh and no one makes better wontons than mum =p
hi angie, hehe i wish. i would love a kitchen like it though. so Masterchef! i'd have to try your mum's wontons to make sure they're good though hehe but i'm sure they are. homemade is always better!
Does Simon know if Deli Choice has relocated or closed down. The King St Deli Choice isn't there anymore.
hi anonymous, i was just as surprised as you to find it had disappeared although i think it's because of the current building renovations. hopefully they'll return after but i'm suspecting the rent might go up so they could be forced to relocate. let's hope we find them again.
The chef/owner of Deli Choice has apparently moved to 111 Elizabeth Street. Now called Indochine Cafe - more upmarket, serving Vietnamese food, pricier, but the quality and tastes remains great
