I was hoping for one of the strawberry tarts with gold flecks I spotted last time I visited but there didn't seem to be any available today. So the Polenta Pudding catches my eye as an afternoon sugar treat with it's colourful array of fruits. It was a little awkward to eat with just a spoon supplied so make sure you ask for a fork as well. The caramelised pear through the cake was quite nice although the overall firmness of the cake was a bit dryer than I'd hoped for — perhaps this is due to being made from polenta? The fresh raspberry on top was the icing on the cake for me.
I also got the 'Bacco' as a home bound takeaway dessert. It wasn't as rich as it looked and was much lighter in taste than expected. Although I would have liked more of the tasty base pastry to help balance the top part of the cake.
