The cakes in the counter display of this stylish café are like works of art and remind me of window shopping the patisseries in France. The beautiful and reasonably priced cakes are cheaper than La Renaissance Café Pâtisserie Française in The Rocks and a more classic taste style than the experimental Adriano Zumbo Pâtissier in Balmain.
My lemon tart was delicious and perfectly balanced for my taste buds. Not too sweet, had the right amount of lemon to meringue ratio, the meringue soft yet slightly harder on the outside skin, a thin yet firm pastry base and the toffee crackling delicately thin. The hot chocolate was good too and didn't really need any sugar added. The larger cakes seem very reasonably priced with so much fresh fruit on top —will definitely keep in mind for a special occasion cake. I hope to try all their small cakes to satisfy my afternoon sugar hits.
