Phamish: Vietnamese, Darlinghurst (21 May 2009)

Shop 109, 50 Burton St, Darlinghurst NSW 2010

The Duck and Prawn Pancakes are still one of the best items on the menu for me at this very popular restaurant. Unfortunately the Salt and Pepper Squid wasn't as good as it used to be at their former address — tonight the batter is not as crispy, the squid is a little rubbery and I find the pieces are a bit too large for ease of eating. The hokkien noodles can be a little tricky with the slippery noodles and could benefit perhaps with a few fresh bean sprouts to break up the sate sauce for the taste buds I think. I have my eye on the Soft Shell Crab dish for next time and perhaps the Green Papaya and Beef Salad.

Haha Phamish again! Those duck rolls look great and I think they'd be pretty easy to make at home (with a bought duck of course).

Gee, it might be just the camera perspective but those pancakes look HUGE!! It looks like there is a whole duck in there!

It was very tasty and fresh and I really enjoy them. I will definitely go back there and try new dishes.
Thanks for the address!
