Phamish: Vietnamese, Darlinghurst (5 May 2009)

Shop 109, 50 Burton St, Darlinghurst NSW 2010

It's been 26 days since my last visit to Phamish and there's only one thing on my mind — Duck and Prawn Pancakes. Although tonight I somehow confused myself and ordered the Chicken and Prawn Pancakes instead which is just as good and $2 cheaper. This dish would have to be one of my favourite dinner-for-one meals around Sydney — it's light, fresh and tasty. Another one of my favourite dinner-for-one meals is the Nasi Rames from the Java Indonesian Restaurant in Randwick.

Other visits to Phamish:
20 Oct 2009 - Chicken and Prawn Pancakes, Prawn Cakes, Vietnamese pan-fried rice flour dumplings, Ginger and shallot chicken stir-fried
15 Oct 2009 - Duck and Prawn Pancakes, Soft Shell Crab
9 April 2009 - Duck and Prawn Pancakes, Crispy Blue Swimmer Crab Dumplings, Sesame Lamb Fillets
5 May 2009 - Chicken and Prawn Pancakes
21 May 2009 - Duck and Prawn Pancakes, Salt and Pepper Squid, Hokkien Noodles with Chicken
4 June 2009 - Duck and Prawn Pancakes, Soft Shell Crab
23 June 2009 - Green Papaya and Beef Salad, Ginger and Shallot Chicken

Sounds flavoursome with the fresh herbs. I wonder why they wrap the pancake in rice paper?

Hi Arwen, I think it's to hold it all together so it becomes a spring roll in effect to dip into the sauce.

Hi Lorraine, I'd go every day for these pancakes you know. You'll have to try them if you haven't had a chance already.
