This little fish n chips shop opposite Ritz Cinema (or Randwick Ritz as I've always known it) has been here since I can remember. On planning to watch the Angels & Demons movie I thought it would be a good idea to buy the Meal and Movie deal — pay at least $7.95 for your meal and you get a movie ticket for $10 extra, usually $12 at normal price (note tuesdays are only $8 at cinema), so you save $2. When the meals were served they looked generous and promising but the best thing about them was actually the hand cut chips — they had the right amount of crunch vs soft potato bits for me amongst the rustic shapes.
The fish burger had a good selection of lettuce leaves but needed more mayonnaise and the crumbed fish was quite thin so lacked enough actual fish meat for me. The baby octopus advertised as chilli, coriander, garlic and ginger tasted more like just sweet chilli sauce and would have preferred them to be cooked more barbecued in style rather than the consistently even cooking which made them less firm and more soft and soggy in texture. I'd definitely have their chips again but perhaps with a battered fish next time.
