Sparkles & Lights

Directly across the road from the A Tavola Italian restaurant is this beautifully lit bar and restaurant hidden away from the busy street below. I've been once before many years ago but I forgot how nice the ambience is inside. A great place to have a pre dinner drink and the bar food seems reasonably priced for a quick snack if your a bit peckish. The Prawn, Coriander and Chickpea Fritters were a nice dish to snack on with my glass of sparkles. By about 6.30 pm most of the lounge seating in the bar area was taken so arrive early to grab a comfy spot. I must say the service was very friendly, from when I entered and being greeted by the doorman, to the front of house Maître d' at the top of the stairs and the bar staff who seemed very on the ball and professional. They have obviously been trained to make sure all touch points of a customers experience are consistent and respectful — it was refreshing to see, especially being in an area which can often be labelled as pretentious.
