On a nice night you can really enjoy the renovated rooftop at Zanzibar Newtown like a few other pubs offer around Newtown including the Bank Hotel and Coopers Hotel. It has a reasonably priced bistro menu including tapas which include vegetable plates ($7), meat plates ($8) and seafood plates ($9). Tonight I order the Prawn Spaghetti (pictured) which has decent sized prawns and quite a kick of garlic which is good for me but not for others. Nice ambient lighing to be found on the Level 1 bar and downstairs seems to be a bit more grungy.
