The Dolphin Hotel has become a reliable pub bistro for me in the Surry Hills area. Prices are probably a bit above average except if you go for one of the $12.50 specials between Monday til Wednesday which are pretty good value. My order of Braised Lamb Shank had tender fall off the bone meat which you'd expect and had enough flavour although a bit more seasoning of salt would have been welcome for my taste buds. The Sirloin Steak with cafe de Paris butter and Lamb and Rosemary Sausages satisfied expectations too for fellow diners.
Other visits to The Dolphin Hotel:
• 3 Sept 2009 - Braised Lamb Shanks, Sirloin Steak with cafe de Paris butter, Lamb and Rosemary Sausages
• 2 July 2009 - Veal Schnitzel, Pumpkin Risotto
Sirloin Steak with cafe de Paris butter and green beans $24
Lamb and Rosemary Sausages with mash and gravy $18

It all looks very nice. Did you try the other dishes? I'd love to know what they were like too!
Ohh I've never eaten anything rather than bar food at the Dolphin hotel. Looks pretty good!
