Xage Vietnamese: $10 opening specials til 31 Dec, Surry Hills (23 Dec 2009)

Tasty opening specials

This stylish new Vietnamese restaurant has only been opened for about 2 weeks and is already drawing a full house of customers for dinner. I'm sure the $10 opening special of mains is one of the main draw cards which makes it a very reasonably priced meal especially when considering the good presentation and quality ingredients. The entrees are also reasonably priced and the Summer Rolls are generously packed with fresh ingredients. I'm very impressed with the accompanying dipping sauces which are much more sophisticated than the usual run-of-the-meal ones you sometimes get — watch out for the green chilli sauce, it packs a bit of a kick. The slow-cooked beef and pork mains are nicely tender and go very well with rice. I must try the Vermicelli Salads before the end of the year — I'm always on the look out for a really good one that's closer than having to go to Cabramatta or Canley Vale.

Honey tofu shitake summer rolls (signature) $8.50

Prawn summer rolls, green chilli sauce $7.50

Grilled red pork nem nuong skewers $7.50

Caramelised slow-cooked pepper pork kho (signature) $10

Slow-cooked beef curry, lotus roots (signature) $10

10 bucks for a main in Surry Hills is definitely a bargain! I only have a few more days - I wonder if I can squeeze this in! Happy Holidays!

It certainly does look good! I wonder how long the $10 mains will last? The summer rolls looks fab and the signature pork looks interesting also. Thanks for the post!

Reading the title of your post might help! Duh! Still have time to get the $10 mains then. Hurray!

Wow, such good value! And I could really go some of those prawn summer rolls in today's heat. Any indication of what the prices will be like after the specials have ceased?

hi joey, not much time left. hope you enjoy.

hi mademoiselle délicieuse, not sure how much they'll go up in the new year but hopefully not too much.

hi missklicious, $10 is pretty good value for a meal i guess :-)

hi yen, looks like the prices are still under $20 so i guess that's a good thing and about the same competitive pricing as others in the area. thanks for the update :-)
