Inaugural Sydney Food Bloggers Christmas Party 2009, Hyde Park, Sydney (13 Dec 2009)

Hyde Park South, Sydney NSW 2000

A Celebration of Food

The weather couldn't have been more perfect for the Inaugural Sydney Food Bloggers Christmas Party organised by Grab Your Fork and Chocolatesuze which received fantastic support from over 50 blog rsvps. Apart from an abundance of delicious food on offer there was a fun Kris Kringle. Amongst all the presents the Food Face gift (pictured above) was the most prized possession. I thought it was all mine after stealing it from Hungry Digital Elf but it soon was relinquished from my hands in a round of Kris Kringle steals even though I was last to pick :-( — although I finally ended up with Pigged-Out's basting brush which will be a handy addition to my kitchen. The Kris Kringle steal rule is when it's your turn to select a gift you can decide to steal (politely) a present instead from someone who has already opened a kris kringle present.

The most unusual food item on offer for me would have been Grab Your Fork's bacon and peanut butter cupcakes ... WTF! I thought this would have been seriously wrong but actually worked together OK — who says you can't put bacon in everything. One of the most prettiest cupcakes was the cherry and blueberry decorated ones — who did these? They were sooo yummy and moist :-). At packing up time I was lucky enough to try Lobo's deliciously smooth homemade dark chocolate rocky road from Yaya's Yum Yums — thanks so much. It was a great day to have the opportunity to meet new faces of the food blogging community and catchup with fellow bloggers I've had the pleasure in already meeting — Happy Eating and a Great Blogging New Year!
