Sydney sure loves it's seafood and even before Christmas Eve has started the Sydney Fish Market is alive and kicking during the night time trading hours. It's pretty much like a very busy Saturday and it gets progressively busier as the day continues. You can expect traffic congestion and claustrophobic crowds during the peak of the day so that's why I always go around midnight. Picture taken on 23 December 2009 at 11.27 pm.

Wow what a great catch you got there. Love to see what you're doing with it. Happy Christmas!!
I feel sorry for the people who work there during this period. Although I'm sure the businesses make heaps of money, the workers must receive a lot of angst from crazy customers!
hi shanks, i love fresh seafood, doesn't need much else to it to make a great meal. happy xmas to you too!
hi mademoiselle délicieuse, i reckon it would be pretty stressful during peak times but i guess the day and night would go pretty fast :-)
