Madness at Midnight

Sydney sure loves it's seafood and even before Christmas Eve has started the Sydney Fish Market is alive and kicking during the night time trading hours. It's pretty much like a very busy Saturday and it gets progressively busier as the day continues. You can expect traffic congestion and claustrophobic crowds during the peak of the day so that's why I always go around midnight. Picture taken on 23 December 2009 at 11.27 pm.

2009 Christmas Lunch purchases:
• 20 Large Tiger Prawns $25.94
• 10 XLarge Green Tiger Prawn $21.44
• Boston Bay Mussels $6.99 (1 kg)
• 1 Dozen Large Pacific Oysters $18.90
• Alaskan King Crab Legs $51.55 ($59/kg)
• Munster Gerome French cheese $24.90 (200g)
TOTAL = $149.72

I feel sorry for the people who work there during this period. Although I'm sure the businesses make heaps of money, the workers must receive a lot of angst from crazy customers!

hi mademoiselle délicieuse, i reckon it would be pretty stressful during peak times but i guess the day and night would go pretty fast :-)
